The integrated multi-modal cargo hub (MMCH) at Noida International Airport, slated to be India’s largest, is well underway and expected to be completed by November this year. This significant project covers 80 acres of land and is designed to offer efficient connectivity to and from the country’s manufacturing hubs. Developed by Air India SATS (AISATS), a joint venture between Air India Limited and Singapore Airport Terminal Services, the hub will be a key logistics center, providing seamless road-to-road, road-to-air, and air-to-road operations.
The MMCH project at Noida International Airport has been progressing as per schedule, with the ground filling work already completed and the foundation work currently in progress. The focus is now on constructing superstructures such as the pardi wall casting and installing pre-engineered buildings (PEBs). The next phase, scheduled from August to October 2024, will involve final fitting works to ensure the facility is fully operational by November.
This MMCH is part of the larger development plan for Noida International Airport at Jewar in Gautam Buddha Nagar district, Uttar Pradesh. This greenfield airport project aims to enhance domestic and international connectivity to and from the Delhi-National Capital Region, Noida, and western Uttar Pradesh. Developed by Yamuna International Airport Private Limited, a fully-owned subsidiary of Zurich Airport International AG, in partnership with the state government, the airport is set to open by the end of 2024. It is estimated to cost Rs 5,700 crore and will have an initial capacity to handle 12 million passengers annually, with provisions for future expansions.
