In a major effort to upgrade railway infrastructure, five stations in Odisha’s Sundargarh district are set to be transformed into world-class facilities. This initiative is part of the broader Amrit Bharat Station Scheme aimed at modernising railway stations across India.
Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced that these upgrades will equip the stations with state-of-the-art amenities, significantly enhancing the travel experience. This project is part of the Indian Railways’ ambitious plan to modernise 1,275 stations nationwide, focusing on improving passenger amenities and infrastructure.
The redevelopment will include upgraded station buildings, improved platforms, and enhanced passenger facilities such as waiting areas, lounges, and modernised ticketing systems. Additionally, the project will incorporate green energy solutions and sustainable practices.
